Title: Kangaroos at Caversham Wildlife Park
Broadcast: 29th April 2018
Presenter: Chrissy Morrissy
A lot of the places we visit on Destination WA inspire people to get out and experience our great state- and some do even more than that. Caversham Wildlife Park is just a 30-minute drive to the North of Perth’s CBD, it’s both a destination and a great way to experience our state and country in just half a day.
- The chance to see Australian wildlife is shared with its visitors to Caversham Wildlife Park, and Keeper Debbie shows show she looks after the animals. Today its orphaned joeys or wallabies that have been brought to the Park. Hand rearing a joey can take up a lot of time- they are a bit like a human baby.
- Most of the keepers who are looking after babies take them home and then in the morning bring them to work with them. They are kept in a nursery here at the park.
- The park offers a Kangaroo Walk Through experience that lets you get up close to these very friendly kangaroos. Included are feeding & photo opportunities with the animals- they are not camera shy! Caversham Wildlife Park is definitely the place to see Australian wildlife up close. The Park is open every day of the year except Christmas day and entry includes all experiences.
