Episode: 9
Presenter: Nikki Parkinson
Air Date: 19 December 2021
Nikki starts her journey around WA’s Golden Outback, checking out great stops along the way before tucking in for a good night’s sleep in a luxurious caravan.
- Her first stop is 19km south of Cunderdin at an original police outpost that was built from stone and mud with a thatched roof.
- Nungarin Heritage Machinery and Army Museum is located approximately 30 minutes out of Merredin.
- The Museum is housed in a massive Army Vehicle Workshop building that was constructed in 1942-43 as part of Australia’s defence during WWII. It is one of the few remaining large-volume timber military buildings left.
- Ensure to plan enough time to arrive at your destination before sunset to allow time to set up camp before it gets dark.
- The Mobi Nomad Continental offers the ultimate in luxury accommodation, commonly referred to as the “hotel room on wheels”, it doesn’t carry the excessive weight and bulk of a traditional caravan.
- The Caravan only weighs approximately 1500kg (tare) and can carry a payload of between 500-1000kg depending on your brakes and rims.
- Make sure if you’re heading off-road in a caravan, it is accessible. The Mobi Nomad Continental is an off-road capable caravan with the luxury of a caravan and the agility of a camper.
- The ensuite is positioned at the front of the van, keeping the tow-ball weight down. It is accessible in both camp and travel mode. The ensuite also includes a grey water tank and a 150 litre freshwater tank.
- The Mobi Nomad can be fitted with a traditional roof-mounted caravan air conditioner or a residential split system. There is space for plenty of roof-mounted solar panels and the choice of lithium or AGM battery storage.
- The foldout kitchen and prep area are equipped with a gas stove, sink, and all the essential kitchen utensils.
