45 minutes from Perth is the perfect weekend getaway; Rockingham has everything you could want, from a wonderful break away from the city, without a lengthy drive down south.

• Covering some 262km squared, including 42 kilometers of spectacular coastline, the Rockingham area was originally inhabited by the Nyungar Aboriginal people. The City was named after a ship called ‘Rockingham’ which was driven aground in a storm in 1830 just north of where the town was eventually built.
• Rockingham is not just a brilliant lifestyle or place to visit these days, it's the launching pad for a range of experiences including fishing, cycling, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, diving, wind surfing, skydiving and more.
• Rockingham is easy to access by car or train and most overnight accommodation is within walking distance from the Foreshore strip. Outdoor activities can be enjoyed into the evening, mostly accompanied by a picturesque sunset, and then followed with a meal at any one of the foreshore restaurants.
• The north facing beach keeps the bay quite sheltered from heavy winds with the grassed areas on the foreshore providing great spots for picnics. Other natural assets close by are Shoalwater islands marine park, Saxon Ranger dive trail, Point Peron, Children’s forest and Lake Richmond.
