Just out of Karratha in WA’s stunning Pilbara region you’ll discover the Dampier and its spectacular scenery. The coastline and water are simply amazing. Whether you're a local or a visitor from afar once you’ve been there you will never forget it. Trevor takes a trip out to the Dampier Archipelago to learn more about what this stunning area has to offer.

  • The waters are incredibly healthy and overflowing with life such as stingrays, Dolphins and whales which are best seen between July and September one of the best times of the year to visit the 42 islands that populate the archipelago.
  • The fishing in the area is world famous.. sought after table fish such as Spanish mackerel, red emperor and even game fish are not unusual to catch here.
  • The best way to see the archipelago is by boat and you can easily navigate the waters yourself or take the cruise with Brad and his team at Discovery Cruising and relax and enjoy the scenery as you go.
  • Self guided tours can also be a great option if you have your own boat.
