Trevor ventures to the Ord River in the Kimberley to take part in the Discovery Parks-Triple J tours, taking him up the river to see the natural and geological wonders that make the region so special.

  • The Triple J Tour offers a continues river cruise going 55km up the Ord River. Pass through lush and diverse tropical wetlands, iconic Kimberley sandstone cliffs, and many other incredible Kimberley destinations only visible by water.
  • Freshwater crocodiles, rock wallabies, and a staggering diversity of over 100 species of birds including sea eagles, jabirus, and kingfishers are just some of the wildlife that can be spotted. A region that diverse has something new to offer every time a boat passes through.
  • Visitors can immerse themselves in the regional history of the Kimberley and lean about the Ord River Scheme, a water management and agricultural project that transformed the Kimberley into a one of the most important and unique agricultural destinations in the entire country. Learn about the regions produce including pumpkins, sandalwood, mangoes, melons, and chia.
  • Sailing up from the base of the river allows visitors to see the iconic towering Ord Top Dam from a very distinct and fresh angle.
  • At the end of the trip, the Kununurra discovery park is just nearby, making it an ideal place to experience this from. Pick from waterfront cabins, or caravan and campgrounds on offer as a perfect Kimberley home base.
