• The Noongar people have maintained a continuous connection to boodjar (land) for over 45,000 years.
• Noongar people traditionally follow a six-season calendar, using knowledge of each season to care for and work with Country.
• The seasons are called Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba, and Kambarang.
• Djeran is the third season in the calendar.
• The Djeran season starts around April and May.
• Djeran is known as the season of red flowers.
• The Noongar seasons do not follow the standard calendar year.
