There are so many things to do in Kings Park and Botanic Garden whether you are with family or friends for an afternoon picnic, wanting to relax or take in the magnificent views of Perth!

  • The botanical gardens are home to 3000 different species found on the 17 hectares, and one of the greatest wildflowers shows on the planet occurs here every September.
  • Kings Park is 60 hectares bigger than Central Park in NYC and a staggering 281 hectares larger than Hyde Park in London!
  • It’s a sacred place for Aboriginal people, perched atop Kaarta Gar up the Noongar name for it.
  • The DNA tower which is a great workout is 101 steps to the top of the 15m tower though you will be rewarded with great views from the top.
  • The view from the lottery west federation walkway however has an even better view, it’s a beautiful walk and the view back over the city and swan river towards the city is stunning. The walkway itself is 620m long, aerial area being 222 metres and the bridge itself is 52 metres.
  • This expansive parkland is perfect for the entire family, with dinosaur-era themed play areas, barbecues, and outdoor cinema in summer.
  • Isn’t it time you headed back to King’s Park and enjoyed this asset that’s free to all west Australians and visitors to WA!
