Trevor visits Waringarri Aboriginal Arts in Kununurra to discover one of Western Australia's most significant Aboriginal-owned cultural centres and learn about the stories, traditions and artists of Miriwoong Country.

• Located in Kununurra on Miriwoong Country, Waringarri Aboriginal Arts is the oldest Aboriginal community-owned and controlled art and cultural centre in Western Australia, established in the early 1980s.
• The name Waringarri means "many people gathering together" in Miriwoong language, reflecting the centre's ongoing role as a place of culture, creativity and community.
• The centre showcases an impressive collection of contemporary Aboriginal art, including paintings, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, carving, sculpture and fashion created by local artists.
• Waringarri is renowned for its distinctive use of natural ochres, with artworks reflecting deep cultural knowledge, personal stories and enduring connections to Country.
• Visitors can experience guided cultural tours, artist demonstrations, workshops and a cultural garden, providing opportunities to learn directly from Miriwoong people about local history, culture and traditions.
• Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, proceeds from artwork sales are returned to artists and invested back into community programs, employment opportunities, cultural initiatives and the preservation of traditional knowledge.
• Waringarri plays an important role in supporting emerging Aboriginal artists while creating pathways for younger generations through cultural camps, workshops and community programs.
