The Houtman Abrolhos Islands teems with just as much marine life as it does history. To find out more, Jo Beth takes us on a historical walking tour of the island.
- The Houtman Abrolhos consists of 122 remote islands clustered into three main groups, which extend north to south across 100km of our beautiful Indian Ocean.
- There are activities for all ages and abilities, like The Glass Bottom Boat tour run by Abrolhos Adventures.
- The boat tour runs every half hour and takes visitors around the coral landscapes of Long Island.
- When back onshore, visitors can head on another above water adventure with a stand-up paddleboard, relax on the beach or maybe lookout for some of our native wildlife.
- The islands are steeped in history. Take a step back in time on the guided history tour of The Houtman Abrolhos.
- The walking tour heads along trails and the coastline giving visitors insight into the natural and human histories of the islands.
- Whilst on the island, you might also see some friendly sea lions, whales in the right season, and birdlife for all the twitchers.
