Scherri-Lee heads to Bickley Valley to visit the blooming wildflowers.
- Bickley Valley is located 23kms south-east of Perth, on the outskirts of Lesmurdie.
- In the heart of the Korung National Park, you’ll find the Lions Lookout Walk Trail.
- The Lions Lookout Walk Trail is a four-kilometre loop trail providing expansive views over the Perth Coastal Plain and an abundance of wildflowers in spring.
- Located on Welshpool Road East, just a short drive from Perth, this 4km loop is perfect for a quick escape to the bush.
- Wildflower highlights along the trail include the Pink Enamel Orchid and native fauna like Grass trees, Kangaroo Paws, Hakeas, Grevilleas, Wattles, Orchids and Peas.
- Soil quality is a big part of what determines which flowers appear in specific areas.
- A specially marked walking trail map is available to download for free from the Shire of Kalamunda’s website – www.kalamunda.wa.gov.au
- The walk is considered a difficult, with a walking grade of 4 and the average time taken to complete the walk being 90 minutes.
- There are great views over Bickley Reservoir and the city.
