- Camels are incredible animals and make great travel companions with the ability to travel 40 kilometres a day, carrying 590 Kilograms on their backs.
- The Calamunnda Camel farm in Paull’s Valley Kalamunda is the oldest camel farm in WA. There are 24 camels on the farm.
- Camels are a heard species and when traveling together they walk in a single file to help create a cleared path.
- There are 3 rides available at the Camel Farm; an introductory ride, a ½ hour ride and an hour-long ride. Bookings are essential.
- In a natural setting, the Camel Farm provides an exceptional opportunity to discover the rich flora and fauna of the Australian bushland.
- Kalamunda is named from the Aboriginal words "cala" meaning home, and "munnda" meaning forest, thus Kalamunda means "a home in the forest".
- Camels’ have a third, clear eyelid that protects their eyes from blowing sand.
- Camels' humps consist of stored fat, which they can metabolise when food and water are scarce.
