30 minutes from the Heart of Perth is Caversham Wildlife Park, a favourite destination for both locals and visitors around the world and a real must if you want to visit the real Australia.

• Experience life on a sheep station, to our own unique wildlife, including the large marsupial, the Wombat.
• Visit Asha the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat, who was bought to the park from South Australia, through a program which looks after rescued orphaned Wombats and is funded almost entirely by donations.
• There are a number of Wombats at the park, with the recent new edition of Asha, and two other furry friends Roger and Judy.
• Judy is a Bare Nosed Wombat who loves to run around and chase her keeper.
• Interestingly the common perception is that Wombats are slow creatures, however they can actually run up to about 40Km/h.
• In the wild the main threats to Wombats are Mange and vehicle strikes, with population numbers decreasing with the average lifespan of a Wombat in the wild being just 5-10 years, whereas in captivity they are expected to reach between 20-30 years.
• To make the most of the experience, guests can come along to ‘Meet the Wombat and Friends’ which runs 4 times each day, have their photo taken with a Wombat and there are about 20 other Australian species to meet as well.
• There are 2000 animals and birds living at the park and you can visit them from 9-5.30pm every day of the year except Christmas and entry fees include all experiences, encounters and food to help you make some new friends.
