Rottnest Island is home to a great natural environment. In this segment Trevor takes us wildlife spotting on Rottnest Island.
- Most people will only ever come into contact with quokkas on Rottnest Island.
- Quokkas are the only species of their genus with little fear of humans, which has led to the trend of getting a selfie with a quokka.
- There are spectacular views all over the island, especially on the West end.
- The bird life on the island is stunning and off the beach you might spot sea lions, and at Cathedral Rocks, New Zealand fur seals that hunt fish.
- Through the winter months you can see dolphins. During the late winter period from August onwards use of the chance to spot migrating humpback whales with their calves through the binoculars.
- Rottnest Island is also home to top scuba diving experiences.
- Winter is a great time to visit, as there’s so much life happening.
