It’s hard to believe that Perth’s World Fringe Festival is only a few years old, growing from just one pilot event in 2011. But here it is, back again, bigger and better as promised!

Fringe World Festival

• Fringe world awards is judged by over 80 “experienced art consumers” a special panel who work undercover to find the best acts to win funding and touring opportunities as well as support from the Department of Culture and the Arts Artflight program.
• The outer Fringe Tour for 2014 will send a taste of the Festival to Esperance, Albany, Geraldton and Bunbury.
• Spiegeltent is Dutch for ‘mirror tent’, originating in Flemish Belgium they have been in use in since the 19th century, beginning life as festive attractions at Belgium fares. Often lavishly decorated in the baroque style with intricate carvings, paintings, velvet and of course mirrors.
• Fringe World is part of The Fringe World Alliance wich includes eight other festivals including: Adelaide, NYC, Edinburgh, Prague, Amsterdam, Hollywood and South Africa.
