Every year we celebrate that unique West Aussie spirit with the ‘WA Day long weekend’ and the piece de resistance of the celebrations is the awarding of the West Australian of The Year.
David Flannagan, geologist turned entrepreneur and philanthropist was the winner of the award in 2014. David’s wish for our state is that we all keep an eye out for West Australians doing really special things within our community to make WA an even better place in the future.
The organization behind these annual awards is Celebrate WA, a not for profit organization which aims at promoting excellence and achievement by Western Australians in all fields of endeavour and encouraging pride in all things West Australian.
