  • The Fremantle Maritime Museum, located in the historic Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, showcases Western Australia’s rich maritime history, from European settlement to the present day, including the state's connection to the sea.
  • It's one of the largest maritime museums in Australia, featuring a wide variety of exhibits about the state’s maritime culture, shipping, exploration, and the history of Fremantle as a port city.
  • The museum is home to exhibits on famous shipwrecks, including the Batavia shipwreck. The Batavia, a Dutch East India Company ship, sank off the coast of Western Australia in 1629. The museum showcases artifacts recovered from the wreck.
  • The museum houses the Australia II, the famous yacht that won the America's Cup in 1983, ending the United States' 132-year winning streak. It is one of the most iconic exhibits in the museum.
  • The museum is also home to the HMAS Ovens submarine, which you can explore. It provides visitors a unique look into Australia’s naval history and submarine operations.
  • The Fremantle Maritime Museum features interactive exhibits, including hands-on displays, multimedia experiences, and models of famous ships, making it educational and engaging for all ages.
