Story: A Weekend at Wave Rock
Episode: 8
Presenter: Trevor
Air Date: 31st March 2024
Trevor embarks on his final adventure with Lengendaire, to the stunning Wave Rock.
- Trevor takes us on a journey of luxury, demonstrating the lavishness of the Legendaire aircraft. Clients have more opportunities to interact with pilots and ground crew, with the ability to ask their pilot to orbit around landmarks for social media-worthy moments.
- Traveling by Legendaire, clients have the opportunity to experience more of WA at their fingertips, from Esperance to Exmouth, all in one weekend, in a way that's completely different from the typical long road trip.
- Wave Rock was created as a consequence of 2.7 billion years of weathering, with wind and rain consistently coming from one direction, shaping the unique 110m long surf break effect.
- Its curved granite cliff face is a remnant of the northern face of a large granite erosion called Hyden Rock.
- The granite rock's coloration is caused by minerals and natural chemicals washing down the rock face, and as they oxidize in the atmosphere, they react with the granite differently, creating these unique colors, which are highlighted differently at different times of the day.
- Trevor also shows us inside a nearby cave named Mulka’s Cave, which is home to a collection of ancient rock paintings telling stories of local Aboriginal legends.
