- The Fremantle markets are a historic and famous spot for weekend visits, when the markets come alive with stall owners looking to showcase their unique foods and colourful products.
- A short walk from the Fremantle Prison, The Round House and the Fishing Boat Harbour, they are the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat and a bit of shopping in between your seaside tours.
- Between handcrafted jewellery, home-spun clothing and unique weaved bags, the many vendors offers unique product ranges that are difficult to find anywhere else.
- This, of course, extends to the food-lovers who may be looking for something a bit more interesting. The selection of local delicacies is ever-changing and varied.
- The building itself dates back to 1897 and is one of just a handful of WA buildings still being used for its original purpose. Over a hundred years ago, the vendors would have shown up with fruits and vegetables driven by a horse and cart!
- Today, the heritage-listed building stands strong, with its unique architecture and high ceilings, making it the perfect backdrop for this thriving community of stallholders and vendors.
