Episode: 13
Presenter: Chrissy Morrissy
Air Date: 16 January 2022
Tourism is one of Esperance’s three major industries. The other two are fishing and agriculture. Chrissy takes a quirky tour on a working farm!
- Esperance Farm Experience is focused on teaching people about agriculture. Tour Guide, Renae Root, shows people; the purpose of farming, the craft of farming, and the life of farming.
- Safety on farms is key to ensure no new unknown diseases are brought onto the farm which could pose a threat to their crops and livestock.
- Andrew’s Toy shed is where participants can see the vast array of equipment that is needed for farm life and get a chance to climb in and around the very expensive ‘toys’ that are necessary for agriculture.
- Midway through the tour, there is an afternoon tea which is taken in the shearing shed. It consists of good honest country cooking.
- The tour takes participants to meet and greet the pet bull Brandon; pet ewe Donna Kebab, the working dogs; and the numerous array of other friendly animals; natural flora, and fauna on our farm.
