Caversham Wildlife Park - Koalas

Segment: Caversham Wildlife Park - Koalas
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane
TX Date: 3rd March 19

  • Caversham Wildlife Park is a family owned and operated business, The vision of David and Pat Thorne back in 1988.
  • When Caversham was started, it was just 5 acres it now covers some 16 acres of animal enclosures and the kids who grew up in the business Debbie and David also work there today, caring for over 200 different species of Australian animals, mammals, birds and reptiles and care for north of 2000 animals.
  • This impressive collection makes CWP the largest privately-owned collection of native wildlife in Western Australia. The park is the premiere development of its kind in Western Australia.
  • The park is home to everything from penguins, to birds of prey and our favourite marsupials, like the Koala.
  • One of the Koalas at Caversham is Bob. He was rescued and if he hadn’t of been rescued and hand reared, he wouldn’t be on earth today.
  • You can interact with the Koalas and hold them in the Koala interaction centre. The Koalas will only come with the handlers if they are willing to, on some days they will simply want to stay home, and others will take their place.
  • To come to Caversham and learn about the conservation that takes place, is an experience never to forget and the benefits of the interactions go far beyond just petting the animals it educates us and wills us to do more.
  • Caversham Wildlife Park is open 7 days a week and there are shows running throughout the day, educating visitors on the animals and conservation.
  • Isn’t it time you visited Caversham Wildlife Park? There is just so much to see and do and a great day out.
