Yagan Square – Food and Beverage

Segment: Yagan Square – Food and Beverage
Presenter: Christina Morrissy
TX Date: November 18th, 2018

Yagan Square is the biggest new food precinct in the city and is causing a huge stir in the local culinary world and Chrissy explores why.

  • If you’re looking to grab a coffee, the area just outside Market Hall is an excellent place to do so while watching the world go by. If it’s food you’re interested in, the food hall is a fantastic location with a host of delicious choices.
  • You may recognise Fish Boss from their food trucks found inside the metro area. This is no ordinary fish and chips shop, as they have a strong focus on using WA produce for their food.
  • Wheat St offers its customers some incredible food options, from fluffy gnocchi pillows to fresh homemade pasta. Their unique tourism license means they are able to serve alcohol with their food, so if you’re looking for some delicious local beer and wine to match with your meal this is the place to go.
  • For fans of Asian food, you can’t go wrong with Hiss + Smoke, a great little joint that serves up mouth-watering Japanese style food. Its sister restaurant is just outside in Horseshoe Lane, named after a Chinese man who came to Australia in 1818 and offers some extremely tempting choices.
  • If you are after something on the sweeter side, make sure to stop by The Honey Cake. This is a place that embodies WA, using local honey, eggs and handmade caramel.
  • The meals on offer at Yagan Square are fantastic value for money, and they are serving some of the best WA cuisine you can find.
  • Conveniently Yagan Square is a 2-minute walk from either the train or bus stations, you’ll definitely find what you’re looking for if not more.
