Title: Unique Wildlife only found in WA
Broadcast: August 13th
Presenter: Chrissy Morrissey

Chrissy visits Caversham Wildlife park gets up close and personal with the animals and discusses the conservation of the native endangered species at the park and the education programs they have in place to help save these animals.

  • Caversham Wildlife Park is a 30-minute drive north of Perth CBD, and a wildlife conservation powerhouse.
  • This year they opened a brand-new twilight enclosure and program as an attempt to preserve WA’s unique and/or endangered wildlife. The program is a joint venture between the ZA and the ‘Save the Bilby Fund’, which allows them to breed many species.
  • They’re saving more than just bilbies: Woylies (which are now critically endangered), western grey kangaroo – their western greys are rescued as joeys where they are hand-raised, allowing the public to get up close and personal with them.
  • The woylies at the park are ambassador animals, which are here for education so that they can teach people about the threat of feral cats and foxes.
